ARCADE AND THE TRIPLE T TOKEN

This is a new novel series being written by former NFL star Rasheed Jennings. As I began reading it, I was not sure what to expect. I find the writing style to be quick and easy reading, but that is to be expected as this is a book written for grades 3-7. However, I have read some books written for this age group which were far more complex than they needed to be. I believe the writing level hits the target audience just as it should.

The story line is one of marvel and discovery. The protagonist, Arcade Livingston, moves to a new town. He is introduced to the reader as he makes a trip to the library to feed his love of learning. A mysterious woman gives him an arcade token, which will allow him to experience in person, rather than simply reading about the experiences in books.

A moderately paced storyline helps develop characters which the reader grows to admire and enjoy, while at the same time they gain experience the adventures of Arcade through the book itself. An enjoyable read, which leaves me looking forward to reviewing the next volume which is to be released later this year.

I received a copy of this book for free from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for a review. The review did not have to be positive. The thoughts expressed are my own.
